a new look at our skin
As a healthcare expert, I am often asked why I chose the topic of skin. There are so many other important topics when it comes to prevention and self-care - nutrition, sleep, relaxation, mental balance, exercise. That's absolutely true!
Nevertheless, I believe that the function of the skin is still often underestimated and neglected, especially when it comes to real 360° prevention and self-care. Skin health is often reduced to superficial cosmetics and symptomatic cosmetic correction.
I would like to change that! That's why I invite you to take a closer look at our skin with me and discover what this multi-talent actually does and can do.
In fact, our skin is the largest and heaviest organ in our body. Their surface area alone is impressive: for an adult it is around 1.8 square meters! This living structure protects you every day from harmful environmental influences and hazardous substances.
Huong's fact of the day
Our skin “talks” to our gut and our brain every second of the day!
The skin, a communicative multi-talent
But the skin can do much more than that. Most of it we are not even aware of. For example, our skin constantly communicates with the inside of our body. It takes on the function of an important signal transmitter and interacts with other central switching points in our body such as the intestines and the brain. Your skin “talks” to your intestines and your brain every second of the day! For this reason, the so-called skin-gut-brain axis has become increasingly important in research in recent years.
The findings from this area offer a wide range of possibilities for sustainable health maintenance and effective prevention. If we practice skin care in the form that suits us, we are not only doing something good for our skin, but also for our entire body. So we are rewarded with clear beauty and sustainable health. In my opinion, this is the best win-win situation there can be! That's why it's particularly important to me to incorporate current research results into the development of my products. This turns skincare into real health care!
